Meet Iliana
Hello I am Iliana Liborio and I am pre-service teacher at Valdosta State

Teacher Philosophy

Children creatively decline once they reach their adolescents in fear of being ostracized by their peers. A concept I am introducing to the classroom will be design thinking. I will give students personal prompts, and they can think about ideas. During this process, students will create prototypes and test out their ideas to see if there are problems. Students would be encouraged to use both technical skills and imagination in their work. Afterwards the students would brainstorm ideas and create smaller versions with the medium. With this, students would have an idea of what techniques to use or the change their idea. Students’ creativity should not be limited to finding their solution. Play and being able to make mistakes is important in all developmental stages when learning about a new skill. I want to encourage creativity not only in the classroom but also outside of the four walls.
